Participants must be residents of either France, Germany, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom and aged over 18.
No purchase is necessary to participate in the Windows7 Pride Contest. To enter the Prize Contest you must have successfully registered to Club VAIO and Facebook (see paragraph 3) or Twitter (see paragraph 4). A successful Club VAIO registration requires a valid email address, a nick name and a password.
Participants that have a Facebook (Facebook.com) account will be able to enter the Contest using their Facebook credentials. A Club VAIO account will be created automatically in the background. Once these credentials are verified the Contest will be able to access data from Facebook (like the avatar, the list of friends, etc.) that will be used in the Contest. The Contest application doesn't store the Facebook password and will ask for a password each time it will access Facebook (e.g. for updating the Facebook status). At anytime the user can remove the Facebook option from the Contest on the Settings Page.
Participants that have a Twitter (Twitter.com) account will be able to enter their credentials. Both user name and password will be stored by the Contest application. The participant will be asked each time whether he or she wants to push a notification to Twitter. When he or she approves the credentials are used to make the Twitter post. At anytime can the participant remove the Twitter credentials from the Contest on the Settings Page.
The Prize Contest will start on October 1st, 2009 and will end on December 31st, 2009 at 23:59.
The first prize drop for the Microsoft Window7 Annoucement event will be picked up on October 19th, 2009. Between October 1st, 2009 and December 31st, 2009 Sony will select one (1) winner per month for a Sony VAIO W Series (VPCW11S1E colour can be chosen by the winner-price for the VAIO W Series: €449,00/£349,00) on top of the Microsoft Windows7 Announcement event. Sony reserves the right to adjust the start and end dates of the Prize Contest without prior notice.
Participants of the Prize Contest must complete the following steps to be eligible for the Prize Contest 'Windows7 Wall of Pride':
Step 1: sign up - Select the preferred social media (Twitter or Facebook). A login screen for the specific social media will appear.
Step 2: share - The parti,cipant has joined the 'Windows7 Pride' contest and his/her personalized url and page are created. The participant can now start the promotion of his/her Pride page.
Twitter: Change your Twitter avatar and add it to your Windows7 badge. Then follow 'Windows7' twitter account, share it!
Facebook: 'Become a fan', able your friends to became a fan of the Facebook Windows7 Pride profile and share it!
Scoring points:
For each vote, the participant will get one (1) point.
In total, there will be four (4) winners in the Prize contest based on the higher score (best vote scoring).One winner for the Microsoft Windows7 launch event and 3 winners for a Sony VAIO W Series (one per month). In the event of a tie, Sony's panel of judges will take the ultimate and final decision on the winner.
Clause: To be winner of the 'Windows7 Wall of Pride' contest, you cannot be a winner of one of the Sony, VAIO Europe Contests mentioned (Top's Spot, Show your true colour, 10th Anniversary, Twilight).
The winner of the Prize Contest for Microsoft Windows7 Announcement will receive a 2 days trip to London (one night stay) (see paragraph 10) and for one person of his/her choice and a Sony VAIO W Series (VPCW11S1E colour can be chosen by the winner-price for the VAIO W Series: €449,00/£349,00).
This trip includes:
The trip will begin from an international airport. Sony pays the plane or train tickets for the winner and his/her guest (economy class). Transfer costs to and from the airport will not be covered by Sony and vice versa.
Accommodation (1X night) with a minimum rating of 3 stars for 2 persons in London, United Kingdom (sharing the same room). Continental Breakfast, Windows7 Announcement event and airport transfers to hotel/hotel transfer to airport for 2 persons will be included in the price for the 2 days stay (one night).
The following items will not be covered by Sony:
The transfer costs from the winner's home to the airport and vice versa.
Any extra costs made during the stay as food, service room, mini-bar, pay TV, cleaning service, wellness, shopping, tips will not be paid/covered by Sony.
Insurance.
The costs for the passport or visa (if necessary).
The winner will be contacted by email (that is provided in the Club VAIO profile) within 2 days after the closure of the Prize Contest.
In the absence of a response to the notification after 2 days, Sony reserves the right to award the prize to another entrant.
Prize will be delivered to winners within 2 weeks after the respective prizes were awarded, as determined by Sony.
Prize is not transferable. No cash or credit alternative is available. Prize is not exchangeable.
Should the prize(s) become unavailable for any reason, Sony reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of equivalent value.
Neither Prize Contest is open to employees of Sony and other Sony affiliates, their family members, Sony and Sony group dealers or distributors, dealer/distributor or other retail staff nor anyone connected with any Prize Contest.
By entering any of the above mentioned Prize Contest, participants will be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these rules, terms and conditions. Any further entry instructions given by Sony and posted on this website will form part of these rules.
We make no representations or warranties, whether express or implied, regarding this Prize Contest, participation or Prizes. We assume no responsibility for, and participants agree to release and hold Sony and its parent and affiliate companies, directors, employees and agents harmless from, any damages, losses, cost or injuries of any kind that result from participation by you in or in connection with this Prize Contest or the acceptance or use of the Prizes, including by way of example hardware, software, internet or any other technical malfunctions or difficulties. In this regard, we do not seek to exclude liability for death or personal injury arising from our own negligence.

Winner of any Prize Contest who is residents of the United Kingdom or Poland shall bear the applicable taxes for the prize(s).
